BankTech Ventures Hosts Successful Fintech Boot Camp for Banking Professionals
BankTech Ventures is proud to announce the successful completion of our inaugural Fintech Boot Camp! Intended to foster knowledge, innovation and collaboration among future leaders of the community banking industry, the week-long virtual program brought together thirteen participants from six banks, representing a diverse range of experience levels from interns to seasoned professionals.
The Boot Camp consisted of a one-hour session each morning for five days, each day focusing on a different aspect of bank-fintech collaborations. Topics included fintech evaluation and de-risking strategies, regulatory guidance around vendor due diligence, leveraging LinkedIn for networking and personal branding, and realistic application of AI in banking operations.
One of the key highlights of the boot camp was the opportunity for participants to engage with subject matter experts and industry peers, facilitating meaningful conversations and knowledge sharing. The collaborative environment fostered actionable strategies for implementing a culture of curiosity and technological advancement within the participants’ respective organizations.
"We are thrilled with the success of our Fintech Boot Camp and the positive feedback from participants," said Kaitlyn Shevlin, Activation Analyst and Program Coordinator at BankTech Ventures. "Our goal was to provide a dynamic and interactive learning experience that empowers banking professionals to embrace a culture of curiosity and drive positive change within their institutions, no matter of experience level."
Participants expressed their appreciation for the sessions, noting the importance of connecting with fellow community bankers. Jordan Behrens, Commercial Credit Analyst at First Community Bank and Trust, shared, "It was a great week and has led to many conversations internally among not only [my colleagues] and I, but with various leaders here at FCBT."
Due to the success of the first Boot Camp, BankTech Ventures plans to conduct the program twice a year, with ongoing engagement opportunities for past participants.
